We are excited to announce the first Lumen devices have been shipped to our backers! After 5 years in research and development and an exciting Indiegogo campaign, we are thrilled to finally be shipping your Lumen devices! We know it’s been a long wait, for some just over a year, but we want to thank all of you for your patience and support throughout our journey. 

Your belief in Lumen allowed us to develop and perfect a revolutionary product, which we believe will improve the lives of thousands of people

When will you receive your Lumen?

We want to be completely transparent with all of you and we know the shipping timelines have shifted a couple of times, so to clarify, here is the updated timeline:

As you can see from the photos, we have already begun shipping in certain regions and the first batch of 1,000 Lumen devices will complete shipping by the end of September. By mid-October, we will finish shipping the second batch of Lumen devices (several thousand devices). We will then continue shipping the remaining devices to all of you between November and the end of the year. 

Shipping in this manner enables us to optimize our systems as we continue to ship Lumen devices to all of you. It also allows our production facility adequate time to continue producing the number of Lumen devices needed at the highest quality.

We know it’s been a long wait for many of our backers and we have only the deepest appreciation for your patience as we launch this incredible product!

“Why is my shipping delayed?”

We know that many of you are wondering what caused the shipping delays and there is no single answer. Getting a product ready for market - especially a product as complex and cutting-edge as Lumen is exciting, but challenging at the same time. Lumen has seen incredible results with our various case studies and the core functionality has been ready for a while, but scaling production, developing the app, and delays on the global manufacturing side, took more time than initially anticipated. We cannot thank you all enough for your patience and understanding during this time. Now, we’re finally shipping!

We know that for many of our backers, the wait to receive their Lumen device has been long. As mentioned in our previous update - new users will need to pay a subscription fee, and as a token of our appreciation for faith in Lumen as an early backer, we announced that all Lumen Indiegogo backers will be provided with a FREE lifetime membership to the Lumen app.

In addition to getting your devices ready, we’re excited about the launch of our new website where you can read all about Lumen’s journey as a company, the science behind Lumen, and other exciting updates. Be sure to check it out!

It's Shipping Time!

We are excited to announce that the wait is almost over! Thank you for your patience. The super early bird backers will be shipped in two batches, the first of which will ship in just a few weeks, and the second will ship in September. After the first batch of devices has shipped, we will continue shipping devices every few weeks in the order that they were received until all devices have shipped.

Have you completed the survey?

By now, all Lumen backers should have received their BackerKit survey. If you have not received your survey:

• Please check your spam folder or verify that you are using the same email address.
• If you filled out the survey but need to change your shipping details, you can always update your shipping info from the BackerKit survey email.
• If you have not yet filled it out, please do so as soon as possible so that shipping will not be delayed.
• Once you have received the survey and filled it out you will not receive the email again.

Completing the BackerKit survey ensures your device is shipped to the proper address without any delays.

Lifetime Membership and App Updates

We know that for many of our backers, the wait to receive your Lumen device has been long. While new users will need to pay a subscription fee, as a token of our appreciation for your faith in Lumen as an early backer, we would like to announce that all Lumen Indiegogo backers will be provided with a FREE lifetime membership to the Lumen app.

Over the last year, we have been continuously updating the Lumen app to optimize your personalized meal recommendations to match your metabolism. When you receive your devices and begin your Lumen experience, you will have access as a Lumen member to a number of features to help you succeed in reaching your fitness or weight loss goals. We have added customizable workout-tracking, fitness tracks which are tailored to your metabolic data, and more customizable nutrition options in the meal recommendations.

Hey Lumen backers!

Ready for some summer updates? We have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on the Lumen device which will soon be shipped out!

BackerKit surveys on the way!

For those of you who are still waiting on your BackerKit survey, they have been sent with this campaign update. You should see the BackerKit survey link in your email. It’s important to respond to your survey since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey and you do not need to pay again as we already collected the funds on Indiegogo. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions, provide shipping information, and if you want to order an additional Lumen device, you can do so in the add-on section, if you like. if you do not wish to order an additional device, just click "complete order" and you will be good to go and again, you will not be charged a second time.

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://lumen.backerkit.com.

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact support at [email protected].

Shipping and Hardware Update

Your Lumen devices are in production! The molds for the T3 version of Lumen have been completed and are being produced this month. We are on track to begin shipping at the end of the summer to our early bird and super early bird backers. This month we will finish up our final round of beta testers and make sure everything is operating in top shape for shipping.

This coming month the Lumen team will be continuing our meet-up events with a special event in Chicago, July 23rd at 7:00 PM local time. Will you be in the area? Look out for our upcoming e-mail invitation to RSVP! You won't want to miss this one as there will be snacks (and yes, prizes too!)

Hi Lumen Backers!

Summer is just around the corner which means we are getting closer to shipping out your Lumen devices! As always, feel free to reach out for specific updates, comments or questions about your order: [email protected]. Here are all the updates for the month:

Shipping & Fulfilment Update

This month we made significant advancements in the hardware and development of the devices including updating the battery life and other operational optimizations. We have moved into the third version of the device and will have those molds in the next month. We are also finalizing testing procedures for the production line. After that, we'll be moving forward with the final version of devices for final production. We want only the highest quality for our backers and so we're committed to inspecting to ensuring all devices are optimized for peak performance.

We've received many questions about changing your address for shipping. Starting June 24th, we will be emailing you with a BackerKit survey to confirm your address before shipping. You will have an opportunity to change your address then. As for timing, shipping for pre-orders is still on track for Summer, and super early bird and early bird orders will be shipped in August. We know it's been a long wait, but we promise it'll be worth it!

On the Road with Lumen

In other news, this month we had our first ever backer meet up in NYC, where over 30 Lumen users got together to meet some of our team and learn more about metabolic flexibility. But if you weren't in NYC, no worries. In the coming months, we will be announcing more meet-up events to get our backers together and talk metabolism in more cities! Lumen is in Target Open House!

This month we are thrilled to announce that Lumen is showcased in Target Open House, a first-of-its-kind connected home lab that showcases the amazing technology improving every day lives with hands-on interaction with new products and services like Lumen. If you can, be sure to check it out and see how the Lumen device works in person in San Francisco! Pre-orders made at the Target Open House will be shipped this fall, starting November, after existing backers (you all) receive your devices.
